The severe weather that struck the Nashville area on Thursday evening, February 24th brought out some of the “BEST” from several local area churches. Knowing that people were in need, the Hermitage Hills Baptist Church Disaster Relief team leader, Don Kohanski, called his team members and organized a group of 14 volunteers to go out to the Lakeshore Drive area in Lakewood to help people and neighbors with their needs, in the name of our Lord, to show love and compassion. Joining the Hermitage Hills team were six volunteers from the Tusculum Hills Baptist Disaster Relief team. Putting in a full day’s work, the teams cleared tree debris from yards and off of homes. Several team members are planning to return to the Lakeshore area this week, just to continue helping.
We know there will be more storms in our life and in our area. If you know of a need, contact Nashville Baptist Association Disaster Relief coordinator at 615-519-6523. We need other Disaster Relief teams to join us, so if your church is interested in helping those in a time of need, contact us for assistance in putting your team together as well.
