The NBA Declaration

as voted in at the Annual Meeting on September 30. 2013

We consecrate ourselves wholly to Jesus Christ for His divine purposes.  We recognize we are no longer our own¦

Don't you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              1 Corinthians 6:19-20

We will say no to ungodliness and sinful desires that defame the name of Christ, and we will live lives of purity and holiness¦

For the grace of God has appeared with salvation for all people, instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, while we wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

                                                                                                     Titus 2:11-13

We will make every effort to maintain the unity of God's Holy Spirit in our families, our churches, and the larger body of Christ¦

And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Ephesians 4:32

"I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

                                                                                                     John 13:34-35

We will follow God's example by forgiving one another and loving one another in words and in actions¦

For you were called to be free, brothers; only don't use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.                                                                                                                                                                                                             Galatians 5:13-14

We will demonstrate the love of Christ by our sacrificial service to those who are yet to believe in Christ¦

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.                                                                                                                                                        Matthew 28:19-20

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.                                                                                                                                                 Acts 1:8

We will obey Christ's final command to be powerful  witnesses of His and make disciples of all peoples beginning in Nashville Baptist     Association and to the ends of the earth¦

Then He said to them all, "If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.                                                                                                                                                                                                           Luke 9:23

We will deny ourselves and daily follow Jesus Christ as our only Lord¦

all for the glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Amen
